Private estate management has historically been a bolt on to the property management industry. Housing developments across the country have been managed by property managers – people who understand the intricacies of property management but lack the necessary skillsets in managing and complying with the increasingly complex ecological and sub-terranean features present in modern open spaces.
For modern communities, open spaces are just as important as the homes around them. Our customers want and deserve thriving open spaces, places to walk, relax, meet and grow. Spaces that bring people together. We believe great places are not just maintained – they are nurtured. That’s why we are transforming the way in which we deliver estate management.
Effective from this month, we will be introducing our new model. Remus Management shall become Fexco Property Services estate management brand, providing services exclusively through our specialist Greenspace team. Our green space managers are all individually qualified in horticulture. They understand the land and know how to care for the landscapes so that they thrive all year around. They understand the soil, the seasons, biodiversity and planting design. They appreciate nature’s needs, its rhythms, and its potential. Our new way of working allows our green space managers more time on site, with more qualifications and depth of experience in horticulture, arboriculture, drainage, ecology management and conservation.
With Biodiversity Net Gain in full force, an agent is needed that will protect the interests of the client for 30 years. A walk around handover is no longer viable. Remus are qualified to check that all monitoring and surveying requirements are complete and that we are taking a development into stewardship with planning conditions met. Protecting the land and ensuring we are able to maintain the gain.
All essential property management functions are centralised. This frees our on-site teams to focus on what matters most: being present, proactive and hands-on across our developments.
Historically estate management has been viewed primarily through the lens of compliance, maintenance, and governance. Managing agents have traditionally been seen as custodians of transfer obligations, service charge budgets, and open space maintenance. Whilst these responsibilities remain critical, the future of estate management demands a broader perspective. Our new model takes us beyond property management – it’s a new era of stewardship.
Our role is to shape places, foster communities, and influence the everyday experiences of the people who call those places home. Community and Placemaking managers have been introduced to put placemaking at the heart of our vision with a responsibility that extends far beyond contractual obligations.
Our team will work with residents and stakeholders to achieve a sense of belonging, connection, wellbeing, and pride in where they live.
