We’re pleased to welcome Jo Wilcox as our new Communities & Placemaking Manager, a newly established role that marks an important step forward in how we approach estate management and resident experience.

Placemaking plays a critical role in successful estate management, focusing on how spaces are experienced, how communities function, and how long-term social and environmental value is created. In this newly established role, Jo will work closely with teams, partners and residents to embed placemaking principles and help shape vibrant, inclusive and well-connected communities across our managed portfolio.

Jo joins with a diverse professional background and experience spanning healthcare, residential lettings and property consultancy. Her appointment reflects the growing recognition that effective property management goes beyond buildings and compliance – it’s about creating places where people feel connected, supported and proud to live.

Jo’s career path brings a unique and people-first perspective to placemaking. Beginning her professional journey as a Registered General Nurse, she developed a strong foundation in wellbeing and holistic care, alongside a deep understanding of how homes and environments play a critical role in physical and mental health. She later moved into residential lettings, gaining first-hand insight into the daily realities of tenants and landlords, before progressing into senior negotiator and sales consultancy roles, where clear communication, strategic planning and delivery were central to success.

“I’m passionate about creating places that people don’t just live in, but truly feel a part of. Placemaking is about creating environments where people feel connected, supported and proud to live. When we prioritise this, we create places where communities can truly thrive.”

At Fexco Property Services, Jo’s role will focus on integrating placemaking principles into estate management, with a particular emphasis on community values and engagement, wellbeing, sustainability and biodiversity. Her work will support the creation of inclusive, resilient environments that benefit residents, clients and the wider communities.

Jo’s appointment reinforces Fexco Property Services’ commitment to evolving property management practices and delivering community-led, sustainable estate management that puts residents, wellbeing and long-term value at the heart of everything we do.
