We’re delighted to welcome Stephanie Smith to Fexco Property Services as our new Tree Officer, strengthening our expertise in arboriculture, estate management, and green space management across our property portfolio.
Stephanie’s appointment marks an exciting milestone for the sector, as she becomes one of the first female Tree Officers within large-scale estate management. It also represents an important step forward for the profession, highlighting the growing presence of women in professional arboriculture and estate management — a field traditionally underrepresented at senior technical levels.
Stephanie brings over 20 years of experience in professional arboriculture, having developed her career from the ground up — quite literally. Her background spans hands-on operational work, public sector leadership, and strategic property and estate management, giving her a comprehensive, end-to-end understanding of modern arboriculture. Throughout her career, Stephanie has remained passionate about urban forestry and the responsible management of trees within the built environment.
“My career has developed from the ground up, starting in the field and evolving into strategic estate and property-focused roles. That journey has given me a holistic view of arboriculture — from tree biology and on-site safety to long-term planning and community impact. I’m excited to be joining Fexco Property Services at a time when green infrastructure is being recognised as a vital part of sustainable property management.”
Stephanie began her career in frontline arboricultural roles, gaining extensive experience in complex climbing, technical rigging, and safety-critical operations. This practical, on-site experience provided a deep understanding of tree biology, risk assessment, and best practice in arboriculture. As she progressed into management roles, she developed strong capabilities in team leadership, compliance, and the delivery of high-quality services under demanding conditions.
She later moved into the public sector and social housing, working as a Tree Officer for a Local Authority and a reputable Housing Association. In these roles, Stephanie managed large-scale tree surveys, Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs), and proactive tree risk management strategies, while balancing technical arboricultural requirements with resident engagement and satisfaction.
In her role at Fexco Property Services, Stephanie will focus on the strategic implementation of a forward-thinking green space and estate management model. Her work will help ensure that trees and landscapes across managed estates are not only safe and compliant, but thriving — supporting biodiversity, wellbeing, and long-term property value.
Stephanie’s appointment reinforces Fexco Property Services’ commitment to sustainable estate management, environmental stewardship, and best-in-class property services for clients and residents alike.
